Sourav Ganguly just finished his press conference as rattle of a speech. He announced his retirement at that press conference. In our office we were all discussing with the speculation that Sourav will be entrusted with the captaincy once again, and for the last time. But we also knew that we were wandering in the sphere of fairy-tale. That was never going to happen. And in fact it did not. Cricket is a great sport, but not so the Indian cricket. In this part of the world cricket is so brutally politicized that fairy-tales remain untrue.
Leave all those hardship and grievances. As Sourav is keeping himself away from all the harsh talk, then why should we indulge ourselves to do so?
But Mahendra Singh Dhoni at least gave us a chance to relish the taste of Sourav's captaincy for the last time. May be it is to keep his image clean or may be there are some other reasons also (we should not indulge ourselves!!), but we must give a big applause to MSD for what he did.
It was lasted for just three overs. And the whole world got a glimpse of the same old dominancy once again, which we saw for about six years and that we have had been deprived of for the three years. Sourav once again put his hands on Harbhajan's shoulder and then marshalling his resources.
What a moment there at Nagpur! Those three overs make us nostalgic. For a while we all went to that Pakistan and Australia tour, where with all his supremacy he consecrate Indian cricket. What we did after those three overs? We just cried. May be the man too, who made us cry.
